Congratulations to Jacob Schwarz, a pharmacist at Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC), on being chosen as President Elect of the Arizona Pharmacy Association (AzPA).
Jacob has been involved in various capacities with the association throughout his professional career. The group’s membership recently voted to have him lead the organization after this year as President Elect.
“Jacob has always been a strong advocate for pharmacy, pharmacy technicians, and the pharmacist profession and leadership in professional organizations extends that advocacy to meaningful state and national platforms,” said Mark Jordan, Director of Pharmacy at YRMC. “This achievement recognizes his professional reputation and trust among involved peers and reflects wonderfully on our department, the YRMC organization and our community.”
Jacob has worked as a pharmacist since 2010. He has worked at YRMC for more than six years, currently serving as the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator.
“It is truly an honor and privilege to be recognized and seen as a leader of pharmacy here in Arizona,” he said. “I am most excited about the possibilities of helping to continue expand the services and value of pharmacy here in Arizona.”
Jacob was born in Michigan, but grew up in Phoenix. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Arizona State University. He then went onto receive his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arizona. After graduating, he completed a Pharmacy Residency in Lakeland, FL prior to returning to Arizona.
He has served on the AzPA Board of Directors for the past three years, the first two years as the Southwest District Chair, representing Yuma and La Paz counties. This past year, he served as Secretary on the Board of Directors.
