American Heart Association recently announced its 2018 Workplace Health Achievement Index and YRMC achieved Silver level recognition for taking significant steps to build a culture of health in the workplace.
“It takes a lot of hard-work to receive recognition from the American Heart Association – in fact, only 18 companies received Gold, Silver, or Bronze level recognition in Arizona for 2018,” said Morgan Porter with the American Heart Association during her recent visit to YRMC. “Thank you for your hard work and dedication to improving the health of the community.”
The American Heart Association launched this ambitious venture to build a culture of health throughout America’s workplaces. The goal is to provide employers with solutions and best practices to improve the quality of workplace health programs and engage individuals where they spend most of their day - at work.
“YRMC’s journey to a culture of health has grown leaps and bounds over the past year, including our biometric screening participation increasing from 11% to 40%,” said Debbie Brandt, Director of Total Rewards. “We also had increased participation in many programs including our self-directed campaigns and community programs. I am very excited about our continued emphasis on health and wellbeing.”
